Vermeer continues its dedication to delivering highly innovative, fuel-efficient equipment with the BC1000XL dual-fuel brush chipper. Looking for ways to provide new features for customers, this machine offers a dual-fuel system that operates on either gasoline, 20 gallon (75.7 L) pressurized steel gasoline tank or propane two 32 lb (14.5 kg) propane tanks simply by flipping a switch. Complete with an 89-horsepower (66.4 kW) GM 3.0L engine, the chipper is powered by a dependable electronic fuel injection (EFI) system and features a direct electronic pressure regulator that allows for greater control of fuel delivery, fuel economy and optimum combustion.

• The dual-fuel system, when fueled by gasoline, the General Motors 3.0L engine can produce 89 horsepower (66.3 kW) at 3000 rpm; when fueled by propane, the engine achieves 79 horsepower (58.1 kW) at 3000 rpm.
• The use of propane has the potential to help accommodate emission standards. According to the Propane Education & Research Council, propane-fueled systems may produce up to 11 percent fewer greenhouse gases than diesel, and up to 24 percent fewer than gasoline.
